Hailsham Youth Service is inviting young people in school years 6 to 11 to get into the Halloween spirit at a special Halloween Party at The Station Youth Centre in Western Road on Friday 30 October, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Taking place on the upper floor of The Station, the free event promises an evening of Halloween-themed games and activities, food and drink, with renowned local DJ Neil Povey providing the music. Young people are encouraged to come along in their Halloween costumes and get creative with their outfits, with a prize for the best dressed person on the night.

Entry is free, but places must be booked in advance. Young people and their parents or carers can secure a place through the Hailsham Youth Service online booking system at hailshamyouthservice.28-3.maisy.online/projects.

Youth Work Lead Kerrie Potter said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming young people to The Station for what promises to be a fun-filled Halloween evening. We’ve got plenty of themed games and activities planned, along with food, drinks and music from Neil Povey.”

“We’d love to see everyone getting into the spirit of the evening and coming along in their Halloween costumes. There are no limits to how creative you can be, and with a prize for the best dressed, it’s a great opportunity to have some fun with your outfit.”

The Halloween Party is one of a programme of events forming part of the Friday Night Project (FNP) autumn programme, delivered by Hailsham Youth Service and managed/funded by Hailsham Town Council. The programme provides young people with regular opportunities to socialise, try new activities, develop skills and build confidence in a safe and supervised environment.

The autumn programme began in September and has already included laser tag, ten-pin bowling, activities at Knockhatch Adventure Park, a roller disco and a Youth Games Night. Further activities are taking place throughout October, November and December, including ski lessons and open ski sessions, Ringo tobogganing, pottery workshops, further games and ten-pin bowling sessions, culminating in a Christmas Party.

Cllr Anne Marie Ricketts, Chair of Hailsham Town Council’s Communities Committee, commented: “The Friday Night Project continues to provide a fantastic range of opportunities for young people in Hailsham, and the Halloween Party is another great addition to the autumn programme.”

“Events like this give young people the chance to spend time with friends, try something different and enjoy themselves in a safe and supervised environment. I would encourage young people in school years 6 to 11 to book their place, get creative with their Halloween costumes and come along for what should be a very enjoyable evening.”

With free entry and a packed evening of entertainment planned, young people are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out.
