Young people from Hailsham are invited to reserve their places for an Activity Weekend at the PGL Centre in Windmill Hill next spring, an event organised by Hailsham Youth Service.

Scheduled to take place on Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd April 2022, young people will be able to pack in as many activities as they can during their weekend stay at the centre, including climbing, trapeze, All Aboard, raft-building, as well as problem-solving and team-building skills.

“The PGL Activity Weekend has been a tremendous success in recent years and next year’s event will be no exception,” said Andy Joyes, Youth Service Manager at Hailsham Town Council. “All the young people who attended enjoyed the activities and the opportunities to come out of their comfort zones and try new things.”

“The youth service team also enjoy the opportunities to take part in activities too, plus young people get over their fear of heights and build their confidence, accomplishing many things during these activity weekends.”

“The importance of the PGL Activity Weekend is to promote active recreation among young people in Hailsham. The outing provides many benefits for young people attending and I would encourage them to take advantage of what’s on offer and book their spaces on the trip as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”

The total cost for the activity weekend is £94 per person, with a deposit of £24 required. To book your space and for more information, email info@hailshamyouthservice

Hailsham Youth Service, which is funded and managed by Hailsham Town Council, works in partnership with other organisations in the town to help create alternative recreational activities for young people on Friday evenings and reduce boredom and antisocial behaviour.

Town Mayor Councillor Paul Holbrook commented: “Young people always look forward to various outings which make up part of Hailsham Youth Service’s provision, and are always keen to take advantage of the many opportunities being offered by our youth worker team.”

“It is a great achievement that Hailsham Town Council, Hailsham Youth Service and project partners have come together to give young people another opportunity to engage in really exciting recreational activities.”

Councillor Holbrook added: “I am delighted with the quality of service provided for the young people of Hailsham in general, and confident that such organised activities will continue to be successful well into the future.”

Young people aged between 11 and 17 years are welcome to attend outings organised by the Hailsham Youth Service.
