Town Council’s Information Point Continues to Support Residents and Visitors

Hailsham Town Council is encouraging residents and visitors alike to make use of its public information point, located within the Town Council offices in Market Street, which continues to serve as a convenient hub for local information, advice and guidance.

Based in the reception area, the public enquiries area provide easy access to a wealth of information about Hailsham and the surrounding area. Visitors can browse an extensive range of locally produced leaflets, brochures and guides covering attractions, community services and places of interest.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to offer free advice to residents, day visitors and group travel organisers on a variety of topics, including local attractions, guided tours, festivals, accommodation, forthcoming events and recommended places to visit across East Sussex.

The information point also provides practical information on local authority services, community safety initiatives, consumer advice and public transport, including the latest local bus timetables.

Karen Giddings, Corporate Services Manager at Hailsham Town Council, said: “Hailsham Town Council is committed to ensuring that the public can easily access accurate and up-to-date information through a variety of channels, including our reception service. We are confident that both residents and visitors will benefit from the wide range of resources available.”

The reception area also features informative displays, Hailsham Town Guides, local maps and details of the town’s public open spaces, all of which are available for visitors to browse or take away.

Those wishing to discover more about the town’s rich history can purchase a Hailsham Heritage Trail Guide from reception for just £1. The guide includes historical photographs and fascinating information about many of Hailsham’s notable buildings and landmarks, leading visitors on a self-guided walking route through the town centre and surrounding areas.

Visitors can also pick up a free copy of the Official Hailsham Town Guide, produced by the Town Council. The comprehensive publication offers an introduction to the town’s history alongside useful information on local services, education, healthcare, housing and council responsibilities. It also features details on sports and leisure facilities, annual events and community organisations, making it an invaluable resource for both newcomers and long-standing residents.

In addition, the guide includes a directory of local services, key contact information, a road map of the town and a parish ward boundary map. Copies are available free of charge from the Town Council offices, although donations towards printing costs are welcomed.

As a historic market town, Hailsham continues to attract those interested in its heritage, as well as people looking to enjoy its amenities and community life. We hope the guide serves as both a useful introduction and a practical reference for anyone wanting to learn more about what Hailsham has to offer.”

The Town Council reception is open Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), from 10am to 2pm, while telephone enquiries are handled Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm.
