Following the recent allocation of grants to community organisations in Hailsham and due to an underspend of £3,784 in the grants budget (£16,000), a second round of grant applications will launch next Monday [15 September].
Grant application forms will be available for non-profit organisations, voluntary associations, registered charities or other agencies in Hailsham. Funding is available for new or improved facilities, activities or projects from the remainder of the Town Council’s 2025/26 grants budget.
Small grants can make a significant difference to community and voluntary groups when planning and funding a worthwhile project. With funding still available, the Town Council welcomes applications from such groups.

Town Clerk, John Harrison said: “The Town Council is pleased to accept applications for grant funding from local groups and organisations in Hailsham and offer small-scale support to help them with their projects, events and other valuable work in the community.”
“For many years, the Town Council has awarded grants to fund programs that relate to its grant criteria and considers each application fairly and openly.”
Cllr Colin Mitchell, Chair of the Town Council’s Finance & Governance Committee, expressed his support for the scheme: “Our grant scheme is the main way in which the Town Council provides funding and support to the voluntary sector. Most of the time, voluntary groups and charities survive on the generosity of donations from the public, fundraising and the willingness of volunteers to give up their time.”

The deadline for the second round of grant applications (2025/26) is 4pm on Friday 10th October 2025. All grant applications will be considered by the Finance & Governance Committee in December. Notification of application decisions will be released soon thereafter.
