Hailsham Town Council is encouraging residents, community organisations and local groups to follow its official TikTok channel as it continues to expand its social media presence and share more video content about the town and the Council’s work.
Since launching earlier this year, the Council’s TikTok account (@hailshamtc) has begun showcasing local projects, community initiatives, events and behind-the-scenes updates, offering residents a new and engaging way to stay informed.
As the channel continues to grow, the Council is inviting more people to follow the account and keep up to date with the latest news through regular short-form videos highlighting the people, places and projects that make Hailsham a thriving community.
Videos published on the channel include updates on Town Council initiatives, coverage of local events, improvements to parks and open spaces, civic occasions and community activities. The Council also plans to feature local organisations, volunteers and partner groups, helping to shine a spotlight on the people whose work makes a positive difference to the town.
The TikTok channel complements the Council’s existing social media platforms, providing another way for residents to access important information and celebrate the many positive things happening across the town.
By using a range of social media platforms, the Town Council aims to reach as many people as possible, ensuring that residents of all ages can access news, service updates, consultation information and details of upcoming community events in a format that suits them. The Council hopes that increasing its digital presence will encourage greater community engagement and make it easier for people to stay connected with local initiatives.

Karen Giddings, Corporate Services Manager at Hailsham Town Council, said: “Since launching our TikTok channel earlier this year, we’ve been pleased with the positive response and are looking forward to building on that by sharing even more engaging video content.”
“TikTok provides an excellent platform for showcasing local projects, community events and the fantastic work carried out by volunteers, local organisations and our partners. We hope more residents will follow the channel and become part of our growing online community.”
Councillor Anne Marie Ricketts, Chair of the Town Council’s Communities Committee, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to communicate with residents, and TikTok has become an important addition to our social media channels.”
“I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t already done so to follow @hailshamtc. Whether it’s highlighting community events, promoting local initiatives or sharing updates on Council projects, our aim is to provide informative and engaging content that keeps residents connected with what’s happening in Hailsham.”
“The more people who follow our social media channels, the easier it is for us to share important information quickly and celebrate the many achievements, events and initiatives taking place across our community. We also hope residents will interact with our content by liking, commenting and sharing posts, helping us reach an even wider audience.”
