Hailsham Town Council is inviting residents, community groups, local organisations and partners to connect with the Council online and follow its official social media accounts for the latest news, updates and information from across the town.
As digital communication continues to play an increasingly important role for local councils in keeping communities informed, the Town Council is developing its online presence to make local information easier to access, more engaging and readily available. Its social media channels provide a convenient way for residents to discover news about Council services, upcoming events, community initiatives, local projects and other developments taking place in Hailsham.
Residents can follow Hailsham Town Council on:
The Council’s TikTok account is its newest social media channel and is currently being developed, with new content set to be introduced over time. Residents are encouraged to follow the account now and join the Council as it builds its presence on the platform.
Social media also provides an important opportunity for two-way communication. As well as receiving timely information directly from the Council, residents can interact with posts, share content with friends and neighbours, provide feedback and help promote the positive work taking place throughout the town.
The Council’s continued investment in digital communication forms part of its wider commitment to keeping residents informed, encouraging community participation and strengthening its relationship with the people and organisations it serves.
Corporate Services Manager Karen Giddings said: “The way people access information is constantly changing, and social media has become an important part of how we communicate with our community. We want our online channels to showcase the vibrancy, diversity and community spirit that make Hailsham such a great place to live, work and visit.”
“By providing information through platforms that people already use every day, we can reach more residents and share news and updates in an accessible and engaging way. Most importantly, we want people to feel connected, informed and involved in what is happening across the town.”
Karen added: “I would encourage residents to follow our social media accounts, share our posts and get involved with the conversations taking place online. Every interaction helps us reach more people, strengthen connections within our community and highlight the many positive activities, events and initiatives taking place in Hailsham.”
