Hailsham Town Council Introduces New Reception Opening Hours

The opening hours for the Town Council’s reception and public enquiries desk in Market Street have now changed.

The Council’s public reception and enquiries desk is now open to visitors between 10am and 2pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. The change forms part of an ongoing approach to managing Council resources efficiently while maintaining accessible services for residents.

Telephone services continue to operate as normal, with Council staff available to take calls from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. This ensures residents can still receive advice, information and support throughout the working day. The Council’s main contact number remains 01323 841702.

Residents also retain the option to book appointments to meet with council officers and councillors, providing flexibility for those who may need more detailed support or discussions outside of the public reception opening hours.

The Council’s public reception area continues to serve as an important resident and visitor information point, offering a comprehensive range of leaflets, brochures and guidance materials. These cover local events and attractions, council and community services, safety and consumer advice, and public transport information, including local bus timetables. In addition, visitors can view a digital display screen highlighting local events, council announcements and community notices, helping to keep residents informed about what is happening in and around Hailsham.

Residents can still contact us by telephone throughout the day, and we remain committed to ensuring our reception area is a welcoming and helpful space for both residents and visitors.”

Hailsham Town Council encourages residents to familiarise themselves with the updated reception opening hours, plan visits accordingly and make use of telephone contact where appropriate, while reassuring the community that access to services and support remains a priority.
