Hailsham Town Council Appoints New Human Resources Manager

Hailsham Town Council is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Human Resources Manager, a key role joining the central management team and created following an in‑depth staff structure review.

Following a rigorous recruitment and selection process, the Council has appointed Rachel Brazier to the role. Rachel brings a wealth of experience, having held significant HR roles across diverse industries, supporting senior leaders with their people strategy.

In their new role, Rachel will be responsible for all HR functions, playing a vital part in helping both staff and management to ensure the Council’s staff are well-supported, motivated and aligned with organisational priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities will include contributing to strategic planning, policy development and the implementation of best practice across all areas of human resources across all teams and functions within the Town Council: Corporate Services, Operations and Facilities, Hailsham Youth Service and Hailsham Post Office.

Speaking about the appointment, Rachel said: “I am delighted to have been selected for this position. Hailsham Town Council is a forward-thinking organisation, and this is a very important time for everyone involved. There are significant opportunities arising from the continued development of the Town Council’s staff, and I am looking forward to applying the skills and experience I have gained in previous roles within a new and rewarding setting.”

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys exploring the Sussex countryside with her horse, family and friends.

Commenting on the appointment, Town Clerk John Harrison said: “The Human Resources Manager role is instrumental in supporting the planning, strategy and delivery of our services and activities. This is the first time the Council has appointed someone to a dedicated role of this nature, reflecting our commitment to investing in our staff and strengthening the organisation as a whole.”

He added: “We are pleased to welcome Rachel to the team and look forward to working with her during this exciting period of change and improvement for Hailsham Town Council.”
