Hailsham Mayor to Attend Popular Choral Concert

Hailsham Choral Society Concert 

The Mayor and Mayoress of Hailsham will be getting into the summer spirit when they join in the celebrations of the Hailsham Choral Society’s next concert, ‘Classical, Opera, Folk, Musicals…, which will be held at the Hailsham Civic Community Hall in Vicarage Lane on Saturday 29th June at 7.30pm.

The concert will offer a wide-ranging programme including a performance of Stanford’s Evening Canticles in A, favourite opera choruses by Verdi, Mozart and Puccini, folk song arrangements, songs from musicals and a medieval drinking song.

The programme will be conducted by Josik Kotz.

Town Mayor Councillor Paul Holbrook, delighted to be invited to attend the concert, said: “I’ve heard all manner of positive things about Hailsham Choral Society’s concerts, and the choir group has a tradition of selecting and recruiting first-rate choristers.”

“I am very grateful to the Society, their conductors and their accompanists too for staging such wonderful concerts and my wife the Mayoress Barbara and I look forward to a superb evening of entertainment for us all on 29th June.”

Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for under 18s. Tickets are available from The Camera Centre (53 Hailsham High Street), via www.wegottickets.com and on the door.

Hailsham Choral Society is a choir of over 60 singers based locally and perform at least four main concerts during the year, with programmes featuring anything from Bach to the Beatles, Rossini to Gershwin and Rutter to Rogers and Hart.
