A loyalty card scheme launched in Hailsham to give customers a greater incentive to use town centre shops has been commended by the Mayor of Hailsham and Chairman of the Town Council, Cllr Paul Holbrook.
The Mayor met with the manager of the Hailsham Card Chris Beveridge this morning to discuss ways of further promoting the scheme, which, initiated by the Hailsham Forward town team and fully supported by the Town Council, offers 100s of exclusive discounts and offers to shoppers in and around Hailsham.
Membership costs just £10 and cardholders can use the card to receive discounts in all the local businesses that are part of the scheme (including any online businesses) together with any other towns across Sussex that are signed up to the scheme, including Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill.
The newest Hailsham Card, launched last month, is made from biodegradable materials to compliment the ‘Plastic Free’ movement, and features a water colour of the High Street by local artist Mary Wright.
To redeem the discount the Hailsham Card just needs to be shown at the point of purchase.
“It’s really easy to use the card and there are no fees involved except for the initial, one-off annual charge of £10 to purchase the card. You simply hand it over to the participating business and take advantage of the offer,” said Town Mayor & Chairman Cllr Paul Holbrook.
“There’s something for everyone, from restaurants, cafes and bars to hairdressers and beauty therapy providers, from antique shops and homeware stores to dog grooming services and fun leisure activities for all the family. There is a broad range of special offers, discounts and experiences available to residents from some of Hailsham’s much-loved businesses and attractions.”
Killian Callender, owner of Callender’s Restaurant commented: “The Hailsham Card allows us to specifically target and reward local and repeat customers with a discount scheme. It shows that we value and respect local customers who have in turn shown their support for the community by buying a Hailsham Card and participating in the scheme.”
Deputy Town Clerk & Business Enterprise Manager, Mickey Caira commented: “It’s so important that people shop locally and we hope residents and visitors to the town will continue to take advantage of the Hailsham Card.”
“The Hailsham Card has proved popular in other participating towns, and it is good for both local businesses and shoppers that the scheme has been relaunched here in Hailsham, following the lockdown periods that came about as a result of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.”
The Hailsham Card continues to expand its membership from local businesses which now includes:
