Hailsham Youth Service has kicked off its latest programme of Friday evening activities, with young people in school years 7 to 12 already enjoying the first events in a packed schedule running through to Christmas.
The Friday Night Project (FNP), delivered by Hailsham Youth Service with funding from Hailsham Town Council, provides young people with regular opportunities to get together, try new activities and spend time with friends in a safe, supervised environment.
The autumn programme got underway on Friday 4 September with a trip to Ten Pin Eastbourne for an evening of Laser Quest, followed by ten-pin bowling on Friday 11 September. Further activities will take place at venues across Hailsham and the surrounding area over the coming months.
The Friday Night Project is delivered with the support of a number of local organisations and activity providers, including Knockhatch Adventure Park, Hailsham Community College and Freedom Leisure. This network of partnerships enables the Youth Service to offer a broad mix of experiences, while keeping activities accessible and affordable for local young people.
There is plenty more to come over the autumn, with the programme combining sport, adventure, creative activities and social events.

The programme offers something for a wide range of interests, from skiing, tobogganing and roller skating to pottery, games nights and seasonal celebrations. Alongside the activities themselves, the Friday Night Project gives young people the opportunity to socialise, develop new skills and build confidence in a positive setting.

We aim to provide a variety of activities that not only entertain but also encourage confidence, teamwork and new skills. We’re really looking forward to welcoming young people back and seeing them get involved.”

With the new programme now underway, young people can still sign up for forthcoming activities, subject to availability. The Youth Service encourages families to book in advance, particularly for activities with limited spaces.
