Hailsham Town Council‘s allotment sites in Battle Road, Station Road and Harold Avenue remain open to tenants during the cornavirus pandemic, although people are encouraged to observe social distancing rules when visiting their plots.
The public must follow the guidelines below when tending to their allotments:
ANY PLOT HOLDER WHO IS SELF-ISOLATING BECAUSE A HOUSEHOLD MEMBER IS ILL WITH CORONAVIRUS SHOULD NOT BE VISITNG ANY ALLOTMENT SITE.
Town Mayor Cllr Paul Holbrook commented: “Taking into account the instructions and guidelines around movement and social gatherings from the Government, we cannot emphasise enough the importance of following all the advice concerning social distancing and hygiene. This is a very challenging time for so many people and of course the health and safety of our residents remains our top priority.”
