Hailsham Town Council is inviting local community groups and charitable organisations to apply for funding under its 2026/2027 Community Grant Scheme.
Non-profit organisations, voluntary associations, registered charities and other community-based groups serving Hailsham residents are encouraged to submit applications before the deadline of 4pm on Friday 27 March 2026.
The scheme provides financial support for new initiatives, improvements to facilities and the continuation of existing projects that deliver clear and measurable benefits to the local community.
Although grants are modest in size, they play an important role in sustaining grassroots projects and volunteer-led services across the town. The Town Council particularly welcomes applications from organisations that meet the published criteria and can demonstrate a positive and lasting impact on the lives of Hailsham residents.

Hard copies of the criteria and application form are available to collect from the Town Council Offices in Market Street.
All applications must be received by 4pm on Friday 27 March 2026. Submissions will be considered by the Council’s Finance & Governance Committee, with funding decisions expected to be announced in late spring.
Town Clerk John Harrison said: “The Town Council is pleased to reopen the Community Grant Scheme and continue supporting the invaluable work carried out by local organisations. Even small-scale grants can make a significant difference to groups delivering services, events and initiatives that strengthen community life in Hailsham.”
“We remain committed to supporting the voluntary sector and will assess every application fairly and transparently in accordance with our published criteria.”
Cllr Colin Mitchell, Chair of the Finance & Governance Committee, added: “The Community Grant Scheme is the primary way in which the Town Council provides direct financial support to the voluntary sector. Many local charities and community groups rely heavily on public donations, fundraising efforts and the dedication of volunteers.”
“Grants such as these provide valuable additional support and can make a considerable difference when planning and delivering worthwhile projects. These organisations are tremendous assets to our community, and I am proud that the Town Council can help them continue their excellent work.”
