Hailsham Youth Service is extending festive greetings to residents and wishing the community a happy and healthy Christmas.
Andy Joyes, Youth Service Manager at Hailsham Town Council, expressed his appreciation for the continued support shown by young people, families and partner organisations throughout the year. “We hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas. Whatever the past year has brought, we look ahead with hope for an even better year to come.”
Andy highlighted the service’s progress during a particularly active year, which included the launch of new clubs and sessions at The Station Youth Centre in Western Road. The transition to this new main base last year marked an important milestone for Hailsham Youth Service.
Now celebrating 26 years of operation, the service has expanded significantly from its original single base. It now provides a wide range of opportunities for young people at various locations throughout the town and continues to make a meaningful impact on their lives.
Over the past year, the service has delivered a diverse programme of leisure and issue-based activities designed to meet the needs and interests of young people. Andy praised the commitment of staff, noting that their enthusiasm and dedication have played a central role in the continued success of the service: “Support from the Town Council, local businesses and the wider community has also been vital. We express our gratitude for the strong partnerships developed with organisations including Hailsham Community College, Freedom Leisure, Knockhatch and Sussex Police, as well as the businesses that have contributed through donations and sponsorship.”
“Young people have responded positively to the activities offered throughout the year, many of which were eagerly awaited. We aim to provide activities that are both enjoyable and beneficial for young people and it is clear that those who attend our centres value what we offer.”
“Looking ahead, Hailsham Youth Service has an exciting programme planned for 2026. We hope even more young people will enjoy everything the service provides in the year ahead.”
“On behalf of the entire team, I wish young people, parents, families and all residents of Hailsham and the surrounding area a happy and restful Christmas break.”
