Hailsham Town Council is encouraging local residents, community organisations, charities and businesses to make use of its recently refurbished meeting facilities located at the Council offices in Market Street.

Situated within the beautifully restored Grade II listed Inglenook building, the Fleur de Lys Meeting Room and Members’ Room offer attractive, affordable and centrally located venues suitable for a wide variety of activities, meetings and events.

Whether hosting a community gathering, training course, business meeting, exhibition or consultation event, the Council’s meeting spaces provide flexible and welcoming environments equipped to meet a range of requirements.

The larger Fleur de Lys Meeting Room is a versatile venue capable of accommodating up to 30 people. The room is ideal for social clubs, arts and crafts workshops, exhibitions, educational courses, corporate training sessions, networking events, public consultations and seminars. Layouts can be adapted to suit individual needs, from classroom and boardroom arrangements to open-plan workshop settings.

Users benefit from a range of facilities including tables and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen complete with crockery, cutlery, kettle and refrigerator, toilet facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Convenient entry is available via the garden entrance at the rear of the Town Council offices.

For smaller gatherings, the Members’ Room provides a comfortable and professional setting for up to 10 people. The room is particularly well suited to committee meetings, interviews, private consultations, one-to-one discussions, small business meetings and corporate sessions. Free Wi-Fi and access to toilet facilities are included, with entrance via the front of the Council offices.

The meeting rooms have recently benefited from extensive refurbishment works as part of the wider restoration and improvement of the historic Inglenook building, creating bright, modern and inviting spaces while retaining the character and charm of the landmark property.

Tony Lee, Operations and Facilities Manager at Hailsham Town Council, said: “Our meeting rooms are centrally located, affordable and benefit from free parking nearby, making them an excellent choice for community groups, charities, voluntary organisations and local businesses.”

“Following the recent refurbishment of the historic Grade II listed Inglenook building, both rooms now offer bright, modern and welcoming surroundings while maintaining the unique character of the building. We are keen to see these facilities used by as many local groups and organisations as possible.”

He added: “Whether you’re organising a training session, hosting a craft exhibition, running a playgroup, conducting interviews or simply looking for a convenient meeting space in the town centre, our rooms provide a practical and cost-effective solution. We welcome enquiries from both regular users and those looking to hire a venue on a one-off basis.”

Both rooms are available to hire at competitive rates, with flexible booking options available for community organisations, charities, businesses and private users.

Hailsham Town Council is committed to supporting local groups and encouraging community engagement by providing accessible, high-quality facilities in the heart of the town.
