The Mayor of Hailsham, Cllr Chris Bryant, will participate in the town’s festive celebrations by attending the Hailsham Choral Society’s annual Christmas Concert and is encouraging the community to mark the event in their diaries.

The concert, which is set to take place on Saturday 20th December at 7.30pm at Hailsham Parish Church, is a highly anticipated occasion in the town’s seasonal calendar. The performance will feature a selection of both classic and contemporary Christmas music, conducted by Jozik Kotz, with William Hancox providing accompaniment.

A retiring collection will be held at the concert to raise funds for Medical Aid for Ukraine.

“The Christmas season is a time for celebration, and this annual concert has become a much-loved tradition in Hailsham,” said Cllr Bryant. “The Hailsham Choral Society continues to offer a valuable cultural contribution to our community, and I am pleased to be part of this year’s performance.”

He added: “The concert promises to be a memorable evening, showcasing the remarkable talent of the choir. With a diverse programme, it is sure to appeal to all ages and provide an exceptional start to the festive season.”

Tickets for the concert are priced at £12 per adult in advance, with under-16s attending free of charge. Tickets can be purchased online via WeGotTickets.

Hailsham Choral Society is a thriving, progressive choir of over 60 members, offering a varied programme of music throughout the year. The Society’s repertoire spans from classical compositions to popular music, including works by Bach, Rossini, Gershwin and musicals. Performances take place in Hailsham and Eastbourne with several concerts each year, including the annual Christmas performance.

In addition to its regular performances, the Society works with professional soloists and orchestras and is currently seeking new members. Weekly rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings at the Hailsham Civic Community Hall, and the Society also organises social events including music workshops, coffee mornings and quizzes.
