Hailsham Youth Service continues to expand its provision for young people aged 11 to 17, offering a broad programme of activities and opportunities throughout the town.
During the lead-up to Christmas, the Friday Night Project is delivering a festive programme designed to provide young people with enjoyable and inclusive experiences. The season begins with a trip to Knockhatch Adventure Park for an evening of Ringo tobogganing, giving participants the chance to take part in a popular winter-themed activity in a supervised and supportive environment. Young people will be able to enjoy the thrill of the slopes while socialising with friends.
At the Station Youth Centre, a Quiz and Pizza Night will take place on Friday 12 December. The event will offer team-based quiz rounds covering general knowledge, seasonal topics and light-hearted challenges aimed at encouraging friendly competition. A selection of pizzas will be provided and the evening will be structured to ensure that participants of all interests and abilities feel welcome.
The festive programme will conclude on Friday 19 December with an End-of-Year Christmas Dinner and Party, also at the Station Youth Centre. The dinner will feature a seasonal menu and will be followed by a celebratory party including music, games and activities that reflect the end of another successful year for Hailsham Youth Service.
Kerrie Potter, Youth Work Lead, said: “November and December for the Friday Night Project marks another season of fun and opportunity for young people in Hailsham during the run-up to Christmas. We aim to provide a variety of activities that not only entertain but also encourage confidence, teamwork and new skills. We’re really looking forward to welcoming young people back and seeing them get involved.”
She added: “The Friday Night Project shows the best of community partnership in action, and we’re grateful to Knockhatch, Freedom Leisure and all those who help make these activities possible.”
Operated by Hailsham Youth Service and funded by Hailsham Town Council, the Friday Night Project works in partnership with organisations such as Knockhatch Adventure Park, Hailsham Community College and Freedom Leisure. Through this collaboration, the project delivers engaging and affordable activities that help young people remain active, connected and supported throughout the year.
