POST OFFICE & BANKING HUB MANAGER
We are seeking a dynamic Post Office and Banking Hub Manager to manage with vision and impact.
SALARY: £36,581-£40,444 (SCP 24-28) per year plus pension
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
LOCATION: Post Office (10 Hailsham High Street) and Banking Hub (Hailsham High Street)
REPORTS TO: Town Clerk & Postmaster
CLOSING DATE: 9am, Monday 19th October 2026 (interviews expected week commencing Monday 26th October 2026)
ABOUT US:
Hailsham Town Council is proud to serve the people of Hailsham, delivering and enabling a range of services to residents and visitors – from parks, allotments and cemeteries to events, community centres, Youth Service and of course, Hailsham Post Office.
THE ROLE:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Hailsham Post Office and Banking Hub services.
- Lead and inspire the Post Office and Banking Hub teams to provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure all post office duties, rotas and overtime are covered.
- Liaise with appropriate organisations to ensure the smooth operation of services and to comply with Post Office and Banking Hub rules and regulations.
- Ensure that financial, operational policies and other procedures are followed, ensuring, effective, efficient and safe environment and systems.
- Ensure appropriate stocking and pricing in line with policies and annual plans.
- Ensure the effective promotion of the Post Office and Banking Hubs
- Create a customer service-led culture which is always seeking to improve performance and to deliver a professional, friendly service to all customers.
- Maximise opportunities to grow sales and increase footfall throughout the Post Office and Banking Hub.
- Ensure the Post Office branch is fully compliant with current legislation and Post Office Ltd. and that all staff are up to date with current compliance and training requirements.
- Work to agreed budgets and targets.
