The Town Mayor will attend a Fun & Safety Event at the Hailsham East Community Centre on Tuesday 17 February , which is being held to help parents, children and young people to learn more about personal safety, fire safety, the prevention of accidents in the home and more.
The event will run from 10.30am to 1pm and is a community partnership project involving local councils, NHS East Sussex Downs & Weald, East Sussex Fire & Rescue, Sussex Police, SureStart and the Safer Wealden Partnership, as well as Freedom Leisure and Active Play.
Activities on the day include a children’s entertainer, play zone, arts and crafts, dance mats and personal and community safety advice from various organisations. Refreshments will be available and children aged 8 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Town Mayor Councillor Jo Bentley said:“The Fun & Safety Day is an event for young people and not so young people to have fun and find out about safety through play and is open to all.
It’s a pleasure to be invited to this year’s event and I’d like to thank each and everyone involved in its organisation. I’m sure it will be a productive day for all concerned.”
