The Mayor and Mayoress of Hailsham are to attend an annual review of Girl Guides in East Sussex this Friday [5 June].
Volunteer workers from Girl Guiding Sussex East will assemble with invited guests at the Observatory Science Centre in Herstmonceux to celebrate their achievements during 2014 and present special highlights of some of the many varied and exciting activities that have taken place over the year.
Joint County Commissioners Sally Buche and Alison Edgar will be hosting the event.
Hailsham Mayor Councillor Nigel Coltman said:
“My wife Sandra and I are delighted to be invited to attend the Girl Guiding Annual Review celebrations and wish to congratulate those who have gained awards and everyone who has helped Sussex East in the past year by volunteering their time.
There are a lot of hard-working and good-hearted people out there who put a tremendous amount of their own time and energy into their local community, and Girlguiding Sussex East is no exception.
I want them to know how much I appreciate their efforts to ensure that girls and young women gain from the opportunities provided by their diverse, challenging and enjoyable programme of activities.”
