Deputy Town Mayor to Attend Annual Colour Show

Community, Mayor's Press Releases

Photographic Society Colour Show

The Hailsham Photographic Society is presenting its Annual Digital Audio-Visual Colour Show at Hailsham Civic Community Hall in Vicarage Lane on Friday 4th March at 7.30pm and Saturday 5th March at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

The Deputy Mayor of Hailsham, Councillor Amanda O’Rawe, will be attending the Friday evening performance and will present trophies to the winners.

The show is the Hailsham Photographic Society’s annual competition for the Best Audio-Visual sequence (pre-judged) and has always been well supported by the local community. The Society has welcomed the Town Mayor or Deputy Mayor in previous years to this major event in the Society’s calendar, which has been held annually for over 40 years.

The Hailsham Photographic Society will be supporting the Kipling County Carriage Riding Group for the Disabled with a donation generated from overall ticket sales.

The Deputy Mayor will present the cheque to the charity on the Society’s behalf on Friday and propose a vote of thanks at the end of the evening.

Looking forward to the event, Councillor O’Rawe said: “I am honoured to have been invited to attend this year’s Colour Show. I will be particularly pleased to meet the competition entrants and see their individual sequences. I would encourage members of the public to come along to this remarkable event and see these breathtaking images for themselves.”

“I am equally as delighted to hear that the Society has chosen this year to make a donation from proceeds to the Kipling County Carriage Riding Group for the Disabled. The funds raised through this Show will help the charity to continue its good work to provide facilities for disabled client members to enjoy carriage driving and develop their sense of independence in the process.”

Tickets for the Annual Colour Show cost £6 and can be obtained from The Camera Centre in Hailsham High Street and The Nodding Cobbler in Vicarage Field or by calling 01435 863110.
