Hailsham Town Council’s youth service provision continues to grow, providing a range of opportunities and activities for young people in the town between the ages of 11-16.

A variety of activities for young people have been planned for Hailsham Youth Service‘s Friday Night Project programme throughout the autumn months, which has recently re-launched following a year and a half-long closure resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and associated restrictions.

Activities scheduled from September through to the end of the year include ‘Ringo’ tobogganing at Knockhatch Ski Centre, and bungee trampolining, water slide and go-karting at Knockhatch Adventure Park, as well as ten-pin bowling at Freedom Leisure Centre.

The Friday Night Project, which is funded and managed by Hailsham Town Council, works in partnership with Hailsham Community College, Knockhatch  and Freedom Leisure to help create alternative recreational activities for young people on Friday evenings, will also continue to be a feature in young people’s social events calendar for the remainder of the year.

“The Friday Night Project gives young people an opportunity to experience challenges of different recreational activities and build self-esteem, and I’m confident that, now it has finally been re-launched, it will continue to be successful well into the future,” said Andy Joyes, Youth Service Manager at Hailsham Town Council.

“The Friday Night Project is a classic example of partnership in the community and I’d like to thank my colleagues at Hailsham Youth Service, Knockhatch, Hailsham Community College and Freedom Leisure for all their support.”
