Hailsham Street Market will continue throughout 2018 following a short break after the festive period, with the last market of the year taking place on Saturday 23rd December, re-opening on Saturday 6th January.
Market stalls will be setting up pitch in Vicarage Field from 8.30am to 3pm every Saturday and items on sale include fresh fruit, vegetables and meat, pies and pasties, gifts, crafts and jewellery, cards, cakes, plants and flowers, jams and conserves, beauty products and more.
Some of the local producers operating at the new market already sell goods in other local markets such as the Hailsham Farmers’ Market which takes place every second Saturday of the month.
The continuation of the Hailsham Street Market, which was launched in August 2013, is just one of a number of projects being carried out by the Hailsham Forward Town Team in partnership with Hailsham Town Council, aimed at improving retail opportunities locally and increasing footfall within the town.
“I’m delighted that the street market is now open for 2018,” said Deputy Town Clerk & Business Enterprise Manager Mickey Caira. “By supporting local producers, growers, suppliers and offering them the opportunity to sell locally – markets are an ideal way of showcasing the diverse range of products available in Hailsham and I’d encourage people to come down to Vicarage Field and support independent trade.”
