Windsurfing with the Hailsham Friday Night Project

Hailsham Town Council’s youth services continue to go from strength to strength, providing a range of opportunities and activities for young people in the town between the ages of 12-17.

A variety of carefully planned activities for young people have been planned for the Friday Night Project from August through to the end of October including go-karting, LaserQuest, water-slide, Froggies Soft-Play and games at Knockhatch Adventure Park, as well as dry-slope skiing at Knockhatch Ski Centre, roller skating at MySkateWorld and ten-pin bowling at Freedom Leisure Centre.

The Friday Night Project, which is funded by The Safer Wealden Partnership and Hailsham Town Council, works in partnership with Targeted Youth Support and Hailsham Community College to help create alternative recreational activities for young people on Friday evenings, will also continue to be a feature in young people’s social events calendar for the remainder of the summer and throughout the autumn.

“The Friday Night Project gives young people an opportunity to experience the fun and challenge of different recreational activities, and I’m confident it will continue to be successful well into the future,” said Andy Joyes, Youth Project Coordinator at Hailsham Town Council.

“The Friday Night Project is a classic example of partnership in the community and I’d like to thank my colleagues at the Square Youth Café, Hailsham Community College, Targeted Youth Support and volunteers for all the hard work put into organising these outings. Thanks must also be extended to the Safer Wealden Partnership for their generous funding from the start.”
