Hailsham Town Council’s youth services continue to grow, providing a range of opportunities and activities for young people in Hailsham between the ages of 12-17.

A variety of fun activities for young people have been planned for the Friday Night Project (FNP) for the first half of summer including kayaking at Buzz Active in Cuckmere Haven, trampolining at Urban Jump in Heathfield, ten-pin bowling at the David Lloyd Centre in Eastbourne, as well as LaserQuest and go-karting at Knockhatch Adventure Park.

There will also be the chance for young people to attend a special FNP ‘Awesome Event’ at Knockhatch on Friday 21st July, where young people can participate in bungees, go-karting, giant pillows, LaserQuest, Gladiator Challenge and brave an inflatable assault course.

Additionally, a trip to Thorpe Park has been scheduled for September. Early booking of tickets is recommended.

The Friday Night Project, which is funded by Hailsham Town Council and the Safer Wealden Partnership, works with Hailsham Community College to help create alternative recreational activities for young people on Friday evenings.

Andy Joyes, Youth Project Coordinator at Hailsham Town Council, said: “The Friday Night Project gives young people an opportunity to experience the fun and challenge of different recreational activities with the aim of reducing boredom and anti-social behavior, as well as raising self-esteem whilst showing young people in a favourable light. I’m confident it will continue to be successful well into the future.”
