The telephone number for Hailsham Town Council’s 24-hour phone line whereby residents can request an urgent repair for town council-maintained buildings and grounds has changed. The new number to call, if an urgent repair is needed outside of office hours, is 07743 763923.The direct access facility is available out of normal working hours (before 9.00am and after 5.00pm and for 24 hours during weekends and bank holidays).

This service is provided to deal with genuine urgent repairs to Town Council-maintained properties and grounds, which arise when the council offices are closed.

Town Clerk John Harrison said:

“Whilst the Town Council hopes that defects to our properties that would be considered likely to cause injury to residents would never occur, it is our responsibility to have an urgent repair contact number in operation for residents and to be prepared to take action to resolve such situations, should they arise.”

The areas covered under the 24-hour call-out service are as follows:

Recreation grounds, parks & play areas

Allotment sites

Other Council owned/maintained property

For non-emergencies, residents are advised to call back during office hours on the main reception number, 01323 841702.
