Pitches are available to trade at the successful Hailsham Street Market, which operates from Vicarage from 9.30am to 3pm every Saturday except the second Saturday when it is held instead on the Thursday.
As an incentive to attract more stall holders, pitch hire is free of charge to traders for all markets which take place on Thursdays, and there are additional incentives for any business operating at the market for the first time.
According to local traders, Hailsham Street Market, organised by Hailsham Forward in partnership with the Town Council, has been a resounding success since opening to the public nearly three years ago.
Stalls selling everything from fresh fruit, vegetables and meat, pies and pasties, crafts and jewellery, cakes, plants and flowers, beauty products and preserves have been drawing bargain hunters into the town and proved a hit with shoppers.
“It’s great news to hear that traders are happy with the market, of which the Town Council has provided funding and manpower support for since its launch,” said Deputy Town Clerk and Business Enterprise Manager Mickey Caira.
“However, we are are on the lookout for more stallholders to add to the already wide selection of vendors selling high quality locally produced items, so please do get in touch with us to book a stall at the next available opportunity.”
Ann Hewson of Trinkets & Treats, who sells jewellery and accessories supports the market and said: “Having been trading with the market since its beginnings in 2013 it has become one of my favourite and most successful venues with many people becoming regular customers. All the market team are friendly and helpful and are willing to go the extra mile to help us traders.”
“The people of Hailsham have embraced the market and now can enjoy a wide variety of goods available right in their town centre.”
Tina Applegate, who sells homemade cards on a regular basis at the market said: “We have lots of great stalls but would like to increase the variety offered to customers. I personally like being at the market and like to vary my stock so if you can’t see what you require please ask.”
Hailsham Street Market has a flexible structure in place to offer opportunities to stallholders who are unable to commit to hiring a stall at every market event. Please call (01323) 841702 or email email@example.com for more details.
