Residents in Hailsham are being urged by the Town Council to enjoy parks and local spaces safely after coronavirus restrictions continue to be eased.
Public open spaces maintained by the Town Council such as Hailsham Country Park, the Common Pond, Western Road Recreation Ground and the Maurice Thornton Playing Field continue to be well-used as we head closer to summer, although residents are encouraged to continue heeding advice relating to social distancing whilst exercising, meeting with friends, picnicking and enjoying the fresh air.
When visiting the Town Council’s parks and open spaces, people are asked to:
“Everyone visiting Hailsham’s parks and open spaces must follow the latest social distancing guidance and enjoy being outside during the spring and summer months responsibly,” said Town Clerk John Harrison.
“With the warmer weather close by and the latest, cautious relaxation of the COVID-19 lockdown rules, it can be tempting for many to meet up with as many of their friends and family members as possible outdoors.”
“All we ask of residents is that they do this responsibly and only arrange socially distanced reunions in line with the latest guidelines and the rule of six. If you do meet with people outside your household or support bubble, be sure to follow the 2-metre social distancing rule and respect the health and safety of others at all times.
