The Mayor of Hailsham will join staff and customers at Bucklers Café next Friday [29th September, 11am] for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, and is urging local residents to pop along and play their part.
“I invite everyone to spare the time to come along for a coffee and a chat to help raise funds for this very worthy cause,” said Town Mayor Councillor Nigel Coltman.
“Every penny raised will support people and families living with cancer by providing specialist medical, financial and emotional support in our local communities.”
Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship fundraising event, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, raised a record-breaking £29.5m last year and, now in its 27th year and with the help of fundraisers in Hailsham and organiser Apex Prime Care Hailsham, Macmillan hopes to beat money raised last year across the UK.
Funds from the event will go towards providing practical, financial and healthcare support to people affected by cancer, as well as independent, expert, up-to-date information services to meet the needs of people diagnosed with cancer.
Councillor Coltman added, “I am delighted to be able to take part in Hailsham’s Macmillan Coffee Morning and this year, as in previous ones, it’s good to see the community working together to support people who are living with cancer.”
“I’m grateful to all the volunteers who work so hard to make this happen, and to everyone who supports the charity wholeheartedly by coming along to the Coffee Mornings, helping to raise money to fund Macmillan’s services.”
“Please do come along to Bucklers to show your support.”
