Town Council To Launch New Website Next Week

Hailsham Town Council is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of its brand new website at hailsham-tc.gov.uk, containing information about the Council and local area.

The website, which will be accessible on Thursday 30th July, will include contact details for the 24 members who serve the Town Council, as well as information about meeting dates, agendas and minutes, Council services and facilities, community events and the latest news updates on the Council’s projects and activities.

The new website will have a more streamlined navigation and be compatible with smart phones and tablets as well as on a laptop or PC, so visitors will be able to do what they need to when and where it’s most convenient.

What Changes Have Been Made To The Website?

• Improved structure for simpler navigation with information categorised and sub-categorised where appropriate
• New responsive design optimised for use on mobile devices of varying screen sizes
• Redesign of website with accessibility options for users with visual impairments and other disabilities
• Integration of a live newsfeed and events calendar to inform the public about the Council’s services and activities
• Updated search facility enabling visitors to filter results to find information

A pilot version of the Town Council’s new website was made available for comment and feedback for a three-week period until last Friday [17th July].

Terry Hall, Communications & Public Information Officer at Hailsham Town Council said: “While the previous website was informative and achieved a high standard of service for residents, by investing in an improved site, it’s essential that we keep abreast of new approaches and rapidly evolving technology by making it easier for people to interact with us online and access information about the Council’s activities.”

Town Clerk John Harrison said: “We are excited about our forthcoming website launch and the information it will provide to both residents and visitors to Hailsham. This is a major leap forwards in providing Town Council information which is more readily available on the new website.”
