Local representatives for a youth employment training scheme set up in 2013 showed their support by attending a special ceremony to celebrate the achievements of young people who have completed the latest course as part of the Hailsham Works! project.
The Mayor of Hailsham Councillor Nigel Coltman joined other invited guests and Tomorrow’s People project staff at the seventh and eighth Hailsham Works! graduation ceremonies which took place at the Town Council offices on Thursday [17 September], at which framed certificates were presented to graduates by the Town Mayor.
Awards were given to eight graduates including Ryan Piorkowski, Joe Coles, Simon Venus, Chelsea Ripley and Jack Hall.
The Mayor announced that the Town Council is once again delighted with the latest training cohort and the success of the Hailsham Works! since its launch in September 2013.
Council Coltman said: “Many of our young people are gaining valuable experience through the various apprenticeships made available to them as a result of the Hailsham Works! programme.”
“Work experience placements certainly help young trainees who struggle to find jobs with futures to develop the necessary skills needed to get a job and integrate into teams better once they have found employment.”
“To recognise their achievements with the Hailsham Works! programme and celebrate their success, I am delighted to have been invited to present certificates of achievement to the latest batch of graduates and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
Hailsham Works! Team Leader Jan Townsend said: “We’re delighted to see our latest cohort graduate with so many successes, they have all worked so hard. We will continue to keep in contact with our graduates and offer them support if needed on an ongoing basis. Well done everyone!”
“We would also like to thank the Town Mayor Councillor Nigel Coltman for his continued personal support to our young people as she takes the time to present certificates to our latest graduates.”
