Hailsham residents are invited to take part in a public consultation on Wealden District Council’s Proposed Local Plan Submission Document, of which Hailsham Town Council is one of the Deposit Points for the Planning Policy consultation.
The Proposed Submission Wealden Local Plan sets out planning policies for growth and change in Hailsham and the Wealden District up until 2028. After consideration of all the representations received, the District Council intends to submit the document to the Secretary of State for examination later in 2018.
The public consultation will take place between Monday 13th August 2018 and Monday 8th October 2018. During this period the following consultation documents are available for public viewing at the Hailsham Town Council Offices in Market Street during office open hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm):
Representations can be made on Wealden District Council’s online consultation portal at www.wealden.objective.co.uk/portal. Alternatively, completed forms can be returned to Planning Policy, Wealden District Council, Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, BN27 2AX or by email to ldf@wealden.gov.uk.
Representations must be made between Monday 13th August 2018 and 5pm on Monday 8th October 2018.
Councillor Glenn Moore, chairman of the Town Council’s Neighbourhood Planning Committee stresses the importance of giving feedback on this document which will help shape future development in the Hailsham area.
Councillor Moore said: “The proposed Local Plan details development locations and types for the period up to 2028, including proposals for new housing and business development. The Plan includes proposals for retail development and the infrastructure required to support all developments. After submission to the Planning Inspectorate for review, the final Plan will be adopted to assess planning applications in the Hailsham area and Wealden District.”
