Following the success of last year’s Christmas Market, Hailsham Town Council and project partner Hailsham Forward are making final preparations for this year’s Christmas Extravaganza event, which takes place in the town centre on Saturday 3rd December from 9am to 4pm.
Vicarage Field and the High Street will be home to a number of stalls selling fine food, Christmas gifts, decorations, cards, cakes, jewellery and many other items. Various festive refreshments will be on sale to tempt visitors.
There will be festive entertainment throughout the day for all the family to enjoy, including carol singing and organisers are delighted to announce that there will be a giant snow globe for families to have their photos taken in, and it is expected that this will be a major attraction for children and families on the day.
There will also be balloon modelling, face painting, gingerbread decorating and Santa & his Sleigh (provided by Hailsham Rotary Club) will be attending the event to hand out free presents to children, supplied by the Town Council with a donation from Tesco.
Christmas music will be playing on a PA system, courtesy of Hailsham FM.
“There really is something for everyone to experience in the town during the festive period, from families and couples to those visiting Hailsham for a spot of Christmas shopping,” said Councillor Amanda O’Rawe, Deputy Town Mayor and Chairman of the Town Council’s Communities Committee.
“The Christmas Extravaganza will offer good quality products, gifts and decorations as well as festive refreshments, live entertainment, Santa & Sleigh and a giant snow globe to help you get into the Christmas spirit. I would encourage as many people as possible to come along and take advantage of what the event has to offer!”
