Hailsham Town Council’s finance and accounts assistant has retired after 9 years of loyal service.
Lynn Brand, who started working for the Council in 2008, taking on responsibilities for the administration accounts and credit control, has been hailed as a “model employee” by the Mayor of Hailsham after her loyal service.
“Lynn’s expertise and willingness to share her knowledge has been invaluable to her colleagues,” said Town Mayor and Chairman Councillor Nigel Coltman.
Town Clerk John Harrison led a special farewell gathering with staff at the Town Council offices in Market Street this morning [23 December]. He said: “Lynn has made a huge contribution to the day-to-day administration of the Council and is held in very high esteem by Council members past and present and her fellow colleagues during her 8 years of service.”
“Lynn is very much a people person and will be sorely missed by us all. We wish her a very long, healthy and happy retirement.”
And the good work won’t stop now that Lynn has left her job. She is looking forward to spending more time with her husband Trevor, children and grandchildren, and her interests which include travelling, gardening and reading.
Lynn Brand commented: “During the years I have worked for Hailsham Town Council I have met and worked with some lovely people and cannot emphasise how much I have absolutely enjoyed working here. Thank you to everyone for the generous gifts you have given me.”
