The published Electoral Roll for 2011 shows a population of approximately 20,436 (estimated to be 22,000+ by 2017. Updated figures – taking into account the increased population due to new housing developments – will be available here in the future.

Parish rate

The Parish rate represents the proportional part of the Council Tax (collected by the District Council), which is paid to, and funds the Town Council’s responsibilities. This amounts to £138.55 for Band D, in the year 2019-2020.

Town Council precept

Based on the above Parish rate, this represents a total of £1,059,811 (requested of Wealden District Council/precept amount) for the year 2019-2020.
