Volunteers Needed for Hailsham Arts Festival

Community

Hailsham Arts Festival

Are you interested in events management, promotion and the arts? Are you able to spare a few hours per week to help coordinate the Hailsham Festival of Arts & Culture? Then why not consider joining the local Festival Committee!

Festival organisers are looking for dedicated volunteers who would like to serve on the committee and applications are welcomed from people of all age groups and abilities to help organise the hugely successful annual event.

Applications are welcome from anybody with an interest in the arts, events management and a desire to bring together the whole community.

Specific roles on the Festival Committee which need to be filled include sponsorship, marketing and administration, as well as stewarding, setting up and other activities during Festival week in September.

“Many individuals and community groups give their time and talents generously for this important community event and are keen to do so again,” said Town and district councillor Nick Collinson, who is also a member of the Festival Committee. “However, we are in urgent need of additional committee members who can help with plans for the 2017 Festival.”

“Members can choose their level of involvement and specific roles on the committee will be chosen based on interests and skills to help ensure the Festival’s continuing success.”

“We have benefited enormously in the past from fresh faces and ideas and would like to do so again. So please get in touch with us if you would like to volunteer or to discuss what’s involved.”

Town Mayor Councillor Nigel Coltman said, “It takes a lot of volunteer assistance and organisation to make the Hailsham Festival of Arts & Culture happen. There are no set expectations for committee membership, you can choose your level of involvement, and current committee members will be on hand to provide support in which ever area you decide to be involved in.”

“Last year’s Festival was a great success and flocks of people came along to view fine local and regional art, enjoy live music and take part in various workshops. I hope that an even better event is organised for 2017 and this is a great opportunity for people of all experiences with ideas and energy to play a leading role in organising an amazing event for their local community.”
