Hailsham Street Market 2017 Dates Confirmed

Council News & Services, Shopping & Retail

Hailsham Street Market

A regular street market selling locally produced items and unique gifts is to re-open for the New Year this Saturday (7th January) following a break after the festive period.

Hailsham Street Market stalls will be setting up pitch in Vicarage Field from 8.30am to 3pm every Saturday and items on sale include fresh fruit, vegetables and meat, pies and pasties, gifts, crafts and jewellery, cards, cakes, plants and flowers, jams and conserves, beauty products and more.

A number of local producers operating at the new market already sell goods in other local markets such as the Hailsham Farmers’ Market which takes place every second Saturday of the month.

The continuation of the Hailsham Street Market, which was launched in August 2013, is just one of a number of projects being carried out by the Hailsham Forward Town Team in partnership with the Town Council, aimed at improving retail opportunities locally and increasing footfall within the town.

“I’m delighted that the street market is continuing throughout 2017 in the town centre,” said Deputy Town Clerk and Business Enterprise Manager Mickey Caira. “By supporting local producers, growers, suppliers and offering them the opportunity to sell locally – markets are an ideal way of showcasing the diverse range of products available in Hailsham and I’d encourage people to come down to Vicarage Field and support independent trade.”

More traders are required to sell at the Hailsham Street Market. To book a stall or for general enquiries contact Michelle Hagger on 01323 841702 or email michelle.hagger@hailsham-tc.gov.uk
