South & Southeast In Bloom: Competition Criteria
In terms of the different competions and categories, the official South & Southeast In Bloom judges will be awarding marks under the following three main headings:
The impact of colour and inclusion of colour combinations
The quality of cultivation and standard of cleanliness
The overall impression of the garden, balcony, display, etc
Please also bear in mind that the judges will be looking at the following factors that could constitute an entry, particularly for the best front garden competition:
Lawns which are adequately cut, well-trimmed and (need we say!) free of weeds

Containers, window boxes and hanging baskets containing seasonal flowers/shrubs

Trees, shrubs and roses (the judges will be looking for well-pruned, healthy-looking plants)
Walls, hedges, paths, patios and fences should be in good condition, i.e. well-clipped and clean
Special features, e.g. statues, rock garden, bed boundaries, sun dials or fountains.
