Systems are in place for maintaining and recording all transactions and payments are approved by the Council under the terms of the Council's Financial Regulations. The Council's Financial Year is April 01 to March 31 - financial planning each year commences mid-way through that period. Please note that the figures in some documents listed above (those marked 'unaudited') are based upon the final out-turn figures for a particular financial year, but require submission to and approval by, the external auditor. TOWN COUNCIL PRECEPT The Town Council precept (the total quantity of money the council will take from the council tax payer to run the services provided by the town council) for the financial year 1st April 2011 to 31st March 2012 is £818,660 (requested of Wealden District Council). The Council tax for a Band D property stands at £117.72. COMMUNITY GRANTS SCHEME Hailsham Town Council awards grants to a wide range of community and voluntary groups (attended by Hailsham residents) that aim to introduce new or improved facilities, activities or projects, for the benefit of the town. | Details
